Christchurch

New Zealand's Little England, Christchurch is a pretty city. If you want to experience rugby Kiwi-style then this is the place for you. Take a walk along the Avon River, ride a tram around the inner city and hop off at the Anglican Cathedral in the middle of the Square. This place has the feel of Canterbury or Oxford. Trendy cafes and great art galleries make this a good place to relax and enjoy he atmosphere of Old England.

New Zealand's largest city, this is an exciting and vibrant city ideal for backpackers. The main backpacker precinct is around Fort Street with plenty of bars, restaurants and hostels. This town has something for everyone: the adventurous, the sophisticated, the young and the young at heart. From 24-hour casinos and live theatre to cinema, clubs, pubs, bars and dance spots, you can party all the way to breakfast time. 

Auckland is a cosmopolitan city with strong European, Pacific and Asian influences. Climb the many dormant volcanoes surrounding the city and go for a pub crawl along K'Road, one of the top night spots. When you want to escape the city, jump on one of the ferries and visit Waiheke Island, a 45mns ride from the city. Auckland is also a great gateway city to the Pacific Islands with all the major airlines servicing the airport.
